February Zva Blog Hop Winners Announced!

Hello everyone!

We'd like to congratulate the following FIVE ladies who won a prize from our design team member's blogs on February's Blog Hop! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Tara Orr

One winner from each of the 5 blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00. Congrats winners!

This is my awesome husband.  He is my best friend and the love of my life.  I cannot begin to write enough words to truly express how I feel, but one of the words that comes to mind is "Grateful."

I used patterned papers from Authentique to showcase this fun picture of my hubby taken in 2010.  I kept the design simple which allows the photo to take center stage.

I used a single crystal flourish behind my title to represent the cold winter winds.  Brrrr!

Zva Creative:  CR-04CA-111 (Enchanting - Soft Blue Crystal/Pearl)

Other Supplies:  Patterned Paper (Authentique); Chipboard Lettering (My Mind's Eye); Title Die Cut (Teresa Collins); Pearl Pen (Viva Decor)

Thanks so much for joining me today.

Zva Creative February DT Blog Hop!

Zva Creative and our talented Design Team welcome you to join us for our February Blog Hop! We are happy to have you join us today today!

The Blog Hop begins at Zva Creative's NEW blog! Be sure head on over if you'd like to start from the top of the hop. You will also find a complete list of all the participating blogs there (in case there is a glitch along the way).

The Blog Hop starts today, February 27th and runs through 11:59pm US Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, February 28th.

As you know, Zva offers many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project. If you like what you see you can find a list of stores and online retailers that sell Zva HERE.

I created this layout using a beautiful green color focus.  I used patterned paper from Webster's Pages to showcase my beautiful Zva crystals and flowers.

I misted white cardstock with glimmer mist, then lightly inked the edges with Distress Ink.  I used a die cut which I mounted on blue cardstock.  I trimmed my die cut using scallop edge scissors.  I adhered the die cut to my cardstock, then applied pearls to each scallop using my Pearl Pen.

I used a mask from Tim Holtz (Borderline) to create the design under my photo.  I then added stickles and pink pearls.

Here is a close up of the lovely Zva flowers.  I layered three styles to create this one of a kind flower.

I used Zva crystals and flowers to add a bit of whimsy to my hot air balloon.

Zva Creative Supplies: CRB-05CA-137 (Harmony - Lime Crystal); CRB-05CA-117 (Fancy - Lime/Olive Crystal); CRW-04CB-137 (Dots Pearl - Soft Pink); FL-04CA-131 (Graceful Roses – White); FL-04CA-137 (Graceful Roses – Olive); FLBK-03CB-101 (Mini Rose - White); FLBK-03CB-127 (Mini Rose - Olive)
Additional Supplies: Patterned Paper, Lace Trim, Ribbon Trim (Webster's Pages); Doily (MLYB); Distress Ink, Stickles (Ranger); Cardstock (Bazzill); Pearl Pen (Viva Decor); Mask (Tim Holtz); Chipboard Title (Imaginarium Designs); Photo (Photoeuphoria); Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angels); Scallop Edge Scissors (Fiskars)
If you would like to play along with our design team, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the way!

Hidden on FIVE of the designer's blogs is a Zva Creative prize package! Winners will be randomly chosen after the hop is over, so it's important to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can along the way.

The 5 winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 1st on each of the five winning blogs. The full list of where our winners will be posted will be found on Zva's blog as well. We will do our best to notify each winner, but it's best if you can pop in to all of the blogs once again on Wednesday... plus, you never know what kind of inspirational creation that you may find there.

All you need to do is leave a comment on this Blog Hop post... you do not need to leave a comment on each and every designer's blog post to qualify. However, the more times you comment along the blog hop path, the more chances you will have to win.

We also thought it would be more fun to add even more chances to win our blog hop prize! To increase your chances of winning:

* Comment to let us know that you posted on Facebook or "tweeted" about our hop (link to any of the blog hop posts)
* Comment to let us know that you asked your local store to carry Zva creative products. If they already do, that's fantastic, maybe you can suggest other products that they don't carry.
* Comment to let us know that your "liked" our new page on Facebook or that you have started following Zva on Twitter.
The blog hop begins here at Zva Creative's NEW blog. Your next stop is Lisa Somerville.

Thank you for joining us!
P.S. Mark your calendar to join us again on March 26thfor our next Zva blog hop!

Little Darlings Tag

I thought I would share the tag I made for Winter CHA 2012.

I used the Little Darlings collection from Graphic 45.  We were asked to used metal staples packaging to create a tag.  I created quite a few layers including a custom baby carriage using my Heritage Cartridge from Cricut.

When I cut the carriage, I also cut a shadow for it.  I placed vellum in between the shadow and the carriage wheels.  I mounted the carriage using foam squares.  This allowed me to place swirls and flowers behind the image.

Tropical Travelogue CHA Projects - Graphic 45

Can you feel the island breeze? The colors in the Tropical Travelogue collection are absolutely amazing. I am a fussy cutter and the images of tropical flowers instantly drew me to this collection of papers. It’s like a playground for fussy cutters! Lol.

I cut the main image from “Seaside Holiday” to create a beautiful tropical border. I used a template from The Crafter’s Workshop along with various colors of Distress Ink and Glimmer Mist to create a custom background.

Tropical Travelogue has soooo many wonderful images. You can see the various layers of hand cut embellishments which coordinates perfectly with my page.

Next I created a multitude of layers topped with flowers cut from “Garden Isle” paper.  To finish my design, I tucked chipboard flowers from “Tropical Travelogue Chipboard 1” between my fussy cut flowers for added dimension.

Be sure to pick up this collection to create beautiful projects of your own.

I love the Metal Film Canister with Album set. I used the Tropical Travelogue collection to alter the tin and to create the round album.

This is a photo of the outside of my altered canister.  I used alcohol ink to color my tin.  Then, using a circle cutter from Creative Memories, I cut my patterned paper into circles.  I adhered the paper to the tin using liquid adhesive.  I created a soft border around the tin using rose ribbon which I colored with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I finished my design with beautiful flowers from the Petaloo Darjeeling collection and a beautiful image from the Tropical Travelogue collection.

The album that accompanies the canister is a round accordian shape.  I decided to adhere several of the pages together to create a more traditional book as show below.

This photo shows how the book opens.

The circle cutters from Creative Memories are the perfect size for my album pages.  It takes all the guess work out when I am designing.

I trimmed each page using pearl pens and Stickles.  I really adds a lovely touch to the design.

Lifestyle crafts has a gorgeous die set called "Swirls" which I used to create the waves for my page.

Seasoned with Love Card and Sketch - Graphic 45

Love is in the air and what better way to show someone you care than with a handmade card. I used the Little Darlings collection to create a card just perfect for Valentine’s Day. The versatility of this collection made it easy for me to create this one-of-a-kind card. The sketch offers you various options like flowers and bows. You can make your card more elaborate or keep it simple. Here, I kept my design elements simple but by adding an intricate die cut heart it changes the entire look. You can easily add other shapes and sentiments to create a card that is sure to delight.

January Zva Blog Hop Winners Announced

We'd like to congratulate the FIVE January Zva Blog Hop winners! Their names will be found on the following blogs:

Yukiko Ochi

One winner from each of the 5 Design Team Member's blogs will receive a Zva prize package worth $30.00.

Be sure to stop by Zva Creative's new blog to see who the lucky winner is there. Congrats winners!

I had so much fun creating this layout featuring soft pinks and greens.  I used self adhesive canvas from Claudine Helmuth as my background sheet.  Next, I placed a template (Harlequin, The Crafter's Workshop) on top o f my canvas and misted it with Cotton Candy Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.  Then I sprayed my page lightly with Key Lime Glimmer Mist.

I placed cheesecloth diagonally across the left side of my page to create a soft, dreamy feel.  I used Claudine Helmuth's multi medium matte to adhere my cloth.  I sprayed lightly over the cloth with more Chalkboard mist.

Next, it was time to layer my elements.  I cut a circle using Graphic 45's Little Darling collection, then placed it to the right of my photo.  I used ribbon from Hero Arts which I also sprayed with the Chalkboard mist.  I cut it into pieces and placed the pieces randomly around my page.

I used Martha Stewart Crafts tags which are in the shapes of circles to add a soft edge to my hard lines.  I inked the edges of the tags with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and misted the centers with Key Lime Glimmer Mist.  The "Love" chipboard title (Imaginarium Designs) was painted using Celery acrylic paint (Making Memories).

Here is a close up of the soft layers I created using cheesecloth, paper layers and flowers.   I love using Zva's flowers and leaves to create a soft, beautiful effect.

I embossed a solid piece of pink cardstock and distressed the edges.  I added delicate Zva pearls creating another beautiful layer to my page.   To finish my design, I added a sweet little clothesline from K & Company.  I have had this in my stash for almost a year so I figured it was time to use it! lol.

Zva Creative:  CRW-04CB-137 (Dots Pearl - Soft Pink); FL-04CA-132 ( 1.5" graceful roses -Pink); CRB-04CB-117 (Imperial - White Pearl); FL-04CA-113 (36pc leaves #II - 2.5"); FL-04CA-124 (3" Dual-Frosty Flowers - White & Pink); FLBK-03CB-101 (Mini Rose - White); FLBK-03CB-133 (Sweet Rose- White); FL-04CA-109 (8" Branch w/leaves)
